This device will set and hold the brakes on your flat towed vehicle in the event it should ever become separated from your RV while towing . The Readystop is easy to install, non-invasive, and comes complete with all mounting hardware and install instructions.A supplemental brake and break away device is required by law in many States and Provinces when towing a vehicle 4 wheels down.
How Does The Ready Stop Work?
The RS-5000 ReadyStop emergency break away device has a cable that connects to your flat towed vehicle brake pedal and it runs through the break away device which only allows the cable to move in one direction until a release button is pressed. Another cable is connected to the frame of the motorhome and a removable red adjustable sling cable connects it to the cable that is connected to the brake pedal. There is a shear link in the cable assembly that will break if more than 300 pounds of pull is applied. If the flat towed vehicle was ever to separate, the cables will pull down the brake pedal until the shear link snaps and the brake pedal will remain held down while the flat towed vehicle comes to a stop on its own. The release button can be pressed in to release the brake pedal and reset the break away device. The Ready Stop emergency break away kit does not come with the purchase of Ready Brake supplemental tow brake or Ready Brute A-Frame . Since it is required in many States and Provinces we recommend that you use one if you are flat towing a car behind a motorhome. Consider fellow motorists safety and feel better knowing that if your towed vehicle was side swiped, rear ended, or the bumper on the motorhome was to break off and your towed vehicle was set free that it will stop itself with a Ready Stop emergency break away installed instead of becoming a dangerous projectile that won't stop until it hits something. Please Phone 07 32096654 or Email enquiries@northcoach.com.au for shipping and purchase questions
